Pottery Poem Series — Sea-Fever by John Masefield

From our Pottery Poem series, this piece carries a line from John Masefield’s Sea-Fever — “I must go down to the seas again.” Hand carved by Jane Chapman, the words ripple across the clay like a tide-mark, simple and enduring. The surface is left natural and unglazed, allowing the texture to echo the pull of wind, salt, and sand — a quiet ode to wanderers, sailors, and anyone who feels the sea in their bones.
